High-quality workplace experiences, ranging from short industry insight visits and weeklong-work placements to extended T Level placements and Supported Internships, which develop employability skills, grow confidence in the workplace and create access to career opportunities.
Aligned with the Equalex Framework, we respond to the needs and abilities of the young people with which we are working. Some young people will be ready and able to participate in an extended placement, while for others, a one day workplace experience is initially more suitable.
Kickstart Express is a series of employability workshops and workplace visits for KS3 or KS4 students.
It is a 3-day programme designed to give students exposure to the workplace whilst introducing them to a cross-section of employees. The objectives are to; develop knowledge & experience of the workplace, develop confidence, networking & communication skills, develop understanding of what employability skills are needed in the workplace, develop a better understanding of own strengths and weaknesses and consider future career goals.
The Way to Work programme is designed to provide enhanced support to your students, identified as being at risk during their transitions into employment, as well as supporting your whole school/college to develop and implement a sustainable work experience programme. The programme includes high-quality bespoke work experience placements, alongside pre-placement preparatory activities and reflective workshops.
The Summer Jobs Programme offers young people six-weeks of paid work experience and training.
The programme, for young people aged 16-20, who are at risk of violence and living in Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Richmond, Hammersmith & Fulham or Ealing, improves young people’s wellbeing and mental health while supporting them with employability skills and self-confidence. Young people are also supported by a dedicated youth worker throughout their placement.
Referrals are open now until the 1st May. If you have any questions please contact charmaineesprit@youthcareers.org.uk
